tacky done right

Something that's taken hold of my interest the past year or so is interior design. I don't have any intentions on doing it for any other home other than my own, I just really enjoy doing it for us. In the past few years we have been remodeling our home in Seattle (slowly but surely) so we can get it on the market and move to a place with acreage. In this time is where I have awakened this love for decorating. Something about creating your own environment so it makes you feel what you want to feel (for me, peace) is so remarkable. It's quite obvious that a splash of color, a tacky pattern, and lots of texture is what gets my attention.
